Who We Are

Newcastle Futures has two main functions.

The first is to strategically coordinate employment opportunities across the city on behalf of the Newcastle Strategic Partnership. This involves working with a host of public, private, voluntary, community and faith groups across Newcastle, to form an effective collaborative partnership to tackle Worklessness.

Secondly to provide a team of 15 Customer Co-ordinators working alongside partners in community venues, who ensure that people are given the best chance to improve their employment opportunities. The Customer Co-ordinators use a cognitive behaviour interviewing technique, which encourages collaboration with individuals helping them to empower themselves and identify solutions to their individual needs.

Our Values

Value and Respect
We will show value and respect in the way we work with individuals, partners and colleagues

Empower and Motivate
We will support empowerment and motivation in people, partnerships and ourselves and to be active in finding new opportunities and fresh ways of working.

Making a Positive Difference
We will seek every opportunity to make a positive difference to people, their lives, and their experiences by the way in which we work together.

Our Company Aims

As lead body for employability we will work on behalf of Newcastle Partnership, informing and coordinating activity in the City by:

• Putting the individual at the centre of services tailored to meet their specific needs when accessing employment.

• Delivering, with partners, a significant improvement in employment rates among those of working age, with a particular focus in the most disadvantaged areas of Newcastle, evidenced through a shared database.

• Improving the skills of individuals to enable them to progress once they are in work, ensuring that most disadvantaged individuals are better able to both find and remain in work.

• Working with partners to influence, where practical, the rationalisation of funding arrangements and target simplification.

• Fostering greater inter-agency co-operation, understanding of, and influence over, each others objectives and spending decisions.
